Armor sets Added: Oct. 1, 2009 by Fritti Tailchaser

Armor sets are pieces of gear obtained via dungeons, quests, raids, player versus player combat or in some cases raising reputation with a certain faction. These sets provide special, often class related bonuses when worn with other pieces of the same set. Not all sets that a hunter encounters are class specific – it isn’t until a player reaches the high 50’s that the Hunter class pieces can be obtained.

Beaststalker – Tier 0

There are eight pieces in the Beaststalker set and all pieces are obtained within instances in the Eastern Kingdoms (Scholomance, Stratholme, Upper and Lower Blackrock Spire), although the bracer, belt and gloves are 'Bind on Equip’ and can be purchased via the Auction House prior to being the appropriate level for those dungeons.

  1. Beaststalker’s Bindings: Stratholme/Upper Blackrock Spire (Random Drop)
  2. Beaststalker’s Belt: Upper/Lower Blackrock Spire (Random Drop)
  3. Beaststalker’s Boots: Stratholme (Nerub’enkan)
  4. Beaststalker’s Gloves: Lower Blackrock Spire (War Master Voone)
  5. Beaststalker’s Mantle: Lower Blackrock Spire (Overlord Wyrmthalak)
  6. Beaststalker’s Pants: Stratholme (Baron Rivendare)
  7. Beaststalker’s Cap: Scholomance (Darkmaster Gandling)
  8. Beaststalker’s Tunic: Upper Blackrock Spire (General Drakkisath)

Beastmaster – Tier 0.5

There are eight pieces in the Beastmaster set. Once pieces of the Beaststalker set have been obtained, they will open up a series of quests with either Deliana in Ironforge for the Alliance or Mokvar in Orgrimmar for the Horde. The quest line begins with requiring just the Bindings, then progresses to needing the Belt and Gloves, then Boots, Mantle and Pants and finally the Cap and Tunic. Too, in addition to upgrading the specific pieces with additional statistics, the set bonus is also reversed.

  1. Beastmaster’s Bindings: Quest – An Earnest Proposition
  2. Beastmaster’s Belt: Quest – Just Compensation
  3. Beastmaster’s Gloves: Quest – Just Compensation
  4. Beastmaster’s Boots: Quest – Anthion’s Parting Words
  5. Beastmaster’s Mantle: Quest – Anthion’s Parting Words
  6. Beastmaster’s Pants: Quest – Anthion’s Parting Words
  7. Beastmaster’s Cap: Quest – Saving the Best for Last
  8. Beastmaster’s Tunic: Quest – Saving the Best for Last

Giantstalker – Tier 1

The Molten Core lies at the very bottom of Blackrock Depths. It is the heart of Blackrock Mountain and the exact spot where, long ago in a desperate bid to turn the tide of the dwarven civil war, Emperor Thaurissan summoned the elemental Firelord, Ragnaros, into the world. Though the firelord is incapable of straying far from the blazing Core, it is believed that his elemental minions command the Dark Iron dwarves, who are in the midst of creating armies out of living stone. The burning lake where Ragnaros lies sleeping acts as a rift connecting to the plane of fire, allowing the malicious elementals to pass through. Chief among Ragnaros’ agents is Majordomo Executus – for this cunning elemental is the only one capable of calling the Firelord from his slumber.

There are eight pieces in the Giantstalker set and all pieces are obtained from Molten Core.

  1. Giantstalker’s Bracers: Random Drop
  2. Giantstalker’s Belt: Random Drop
  3. Giantstalker’s Leggings: Magmadar
  4. Giantstalker’s Boots: Gehennas
  5. Giantstalker’s Helmet: Garr
  6. Giantstalker’s Gloves: Shazzrah
  7. Giantstalker’s Breastplate: Golemagg the Incinerator
  8. Giantstalker’s Epaulets: Sulfuron Harbinger

Predator’s – Tier 1.5

Over a thousand years ago the powerful Gurubashi Empire was torn apart by a massive civil war. An influential group of troll priests, known as the Atal’ai, called forth the avatar of an ancient and terrible blood god named Hakkar the Soulflayer. Though the priests were defeated and ultimately exiled, the great troll empire collapsed upon itself. The exiled priests fled far to the north, into the Swamp of Sorrows, where they erected a great temple to Hakkar in order to prepare for his arrival into the physical world.

In time, the Atal’ai priests discovered that Hakkar’s physical form could only be summoned within the ancient capital of the Gurubashi Empire, Zul’Gurub. Unfortunately, the priests have met with recent success in their quest to call forth Hakkar – reports confirm the presence of the dreaded Soulflayer in the heart of the Gurubashi ruins.

Zul’Gurub is located in the northeastern portion of Stranglethorn Vale. There are five pieces in the Predator set, obtained via quests given out by the Zandalar Tribe on Yojamba Isle and are based on both reputation and obtaining specific class tokens from inside Zul’Gurub. Renataki’s Charm of Beasts can be obtained as early as neutral, but requires obtaining a Punctured Voodoo Doll (one of the hunter only ones) and completing the Edge of Madness events over an eight week period.

  1. Renataki’s Charm of Beasts: Neutral
  2. Zandalar Predator’s Bracers: Quest – Paragons of Power: The Predator’s Bracers (Friendly)
  3. Zandalar Predator’s Belt: Quest – Paragons of Power: The Predator’s Belt (Honored)
  4. Zandalar Predator’s Mantle: Quest – Paragons of Power: The Predator’s Mantle (Revered)
  5. Maelstrom’s Wrath: Quest – Maelstrom’s Wrath

Dragonstalker – Tier 2

The mighty fortress carved within the fiery bowels of Blackrock Mountain was designed by the master dwarf-mason, Franclorn Forgewright. Intended to be the symbol of Dark Iron power, the fortress was held by the sinister dwarves for centuries. However, Nefarian – the cunning son of the dragon, Deathwing – had other plans for the great keep.

Nefarian’s sanctum, Blackwing Lair, can be found at the very height of Blackrock Spire. It is there in the dark recesses of the mountain’s peak that Nefarian has begun to unfold the final stages of his plan to destroy Ragnaros once and for all and lead his army to undisputed supremacy over all the races of Azeroth.

There are eight pieces in the Dragonstalker set. The pieces come from Blackwing Lair, with the exception of the pants (Molten Core) and helm (Onyxia’s Lair).

  1. Dragonstalker’s Bracers: Razorgore the Untamed
  2. Dragonstalker’s Belt: Vaelastrasz the Corrupt
  3. Dragonstalker’s Greaves: Broodlord Lashlayer
  4. Dragonstalker’s Gauntlets: Ebonroc, Flamegor & Firemaw
  5. Dragonstalker’s Spaulders: Chromaggus
  6. Dragonstalker’s Breastplate: Nefarian
  7. Dragonstalker’s Helm: Onyxia
  8. Dragonstalker’s Legguards: Ragnaros

Striker’s – Tier 2.5

Events have been set in motion that will shape the future of all of Azeroth, as the attention of the Brood of Nozdormu is focused on Ahn’Qiraj, the fortress city of the Qiraji. It is there that those who are brave enough to heed the dragon’s call should travel. A terrible darkness is building up beyond the Scarab Wall, enough to give pause even to the Timeless One himself. The dragons are rallying their champions to descend into the nightmarish hives beneath Ahn’Qiraj and to finish what they have begun.

There are five pieces in the Striker’s Garb set. All are obtained from The Temple of Ahn’Qiraj, which is located in southern Silithus, via quests that require specific drops from within that zone as well as reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu. Oddly enough, this set was never altered to reflect what has changed with Hunter mechanics, as Hunters no longer gain benefit from items that provide increased damage and healing done by magical spells and effects.

  1. Striker’s Pauldrons: Quest – Striker’s Pauldrons (Neutral)
  2. Striker’s Footguards: Quest – Striker’s Footguards (Neutral)
  3. Striker’s Diadem: Quest – Striker’s Diadem (Friendly)
  4. Striker’s Leggings: Quest – Striker’s Leggings (Friendly)
  5. Striker’s Hauberk: Quest – Striker’s Hauberk (Honored)

In addition to the Striker’s Garb set, raising reputation with Cenarion Circle (whose main base is also located in Silithus) provides access to set of three items, the Trappings of the Unseen Path. These items require reputation and items found in the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj, which is also located in southern Silithus.

  1. Signet of the Unseen Path: Quest – Signet of the Unseen Path (Honored)
  2. Cloak of the Unseen Path: Quest – Cloak of the Unseen Path (Revered)
  3. Scythe of the Unseen Path: Quest – Scythe of the Unseen Path (Exalted)

Cryptstalker – Tier 3

Originally floating above the Plaguelands, the necropolis known as Naxxramas serves as the seat of one of the Lich King’s most powerful officers, the dreaded lich Kel’Thuzad. Horrors of the past and new terrors yet to be unleashed are gathering inside the necropolis as the Lich King’s servants prepare their assault.

With the release of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, it will float its way back home to Northrend and will therefore no longer be found in the Eastern Kingdoms. The statistics and set bonuses will be changing due to its new location (although the look will remain the same). In other words, come the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, Cryptstalker will no longer be available in this incarnation.

There are nine pieces in the Cryptstalker set. The pieces came from Naxxramas, and are turned in to Huntsman Leopold at Light’s Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands along with an additional combination of items (Wartorn Chain Scraps, Arcanite Bars, Nexus Crystals and Cured Rugged Hides) for the armor itself. Ring of the Cryptstalker is a drop from Kel’Thuzad.

  1. Cryptstalker Wristguards: Anub’Rekhan, Grand Widow Faerlina & Gluth
  2. Cryptstalker Handguards: Maexxna
  3. Cryptstalker Spaulders: Patchwerk, Grobbulus & Gluth

  7. Cryptstalker Legguards: Loatheb
  8. Cryptstalker Tunic: The Four Horsemen
  9. Ring of the Cryptstalker: Kel’Thuzad

Beast Lord – Tier 3.5

There are five pieces in the Beast Lord set and all pieces are obtained within instances (regular or heroic) in the Outlands, part of the Burning Crusade expansion.

  1. Beast Lord Handguards: The Shattered Halls (Warchief Kargath Bladefist)
  2. Beast Lord Mantle: The Steamvault (Warlord Kalithresh)
  3. Beast Lord Leggings: The Steamvault (Warlord Kalithresh)
  4. Beast Lord Helm: The Mechanar (Pathaleon the Calculator)
  5. Beast Lord Cuirass: The Botanica (Warp Splinter)

Demon Stalker – Tier 4

The decrepit tower of Karazhan once housed one of the greatest powers Azeroth has ever known: the sorcerer Medivh. Within its halls and corridors, he summoned all manner of otherworldly beings, researching magics no other would dare touch. Karazhan now stands abandoned; with its master gone, the monstrous things and untamed powers have grown unchecked, waiting to pounce on whoever is brave or foolish enough to enter its halls.

Today Gruul the Dragonkiller is worshipped as a deity by the ogres of the Blade’s Edge Mountains. His powerful sons ravage both the Blade’s Edge Mountains and the plains of Nagrand. Gruul’s unparalleled strength and experience in battle would pose a serious threat if he ever chose to attack Horde or Alliance forces in Outland.

Beaten and bloodied, the pit lord was dragged to Hellfire Citadel and subdued by the fel magic of Illidan’s most powerful warlock allies. Bound by chains both physical and magical, Magtheridon survives, wounded to the brink of death and drained of his blood each day by Illidan’s minions. From his tainted blood a new army of barbaric fel orcs has risen.

But should the pit lord ever break free, Outland will surely tremble once again beneath his terrible wrath.

There are five pieces in the Demon Stalker set. The five pieces are obtained in what might be considered the 'starting’ raid areas for the Burning Crusade expansion – Karazhan, Gruul’s Lair and Magtheridon’s Lair. Tokens are obtained from defeating NPCs in these zones and then exchanged with vendors in either Aldor Rise [Asuur] or Scryer’s Tier [Arodis Sunblade] (depending on which faction the Hunter has allied with) for the corresponding set piece.

  1. Demon Stalker Gauntlets: Karazhan (The Curator)
  2. Demon Stalker Shoulderguards: Gruul’s Lair (High King Maulgar)
  3. Demon Stalker Greaves: Gruul’s Lair (Gruul the Dragonkiller)
  4. Demon Stalker Greathelm: Karazhan (Prince Malchezaar)
  5. Demon Stalker Harness: Magtheridon’s Lair (Magtheridon)

Rift Stalker – Tier 5

Shortly after the Third War, when Illidan requested the aid of the naga, a group of naga led by Lady Vashj answered his call. Ever since, Vashj has displayed a fierce dedication to Illidan. Now the naga witch carefully monitors Coilfang’s operations from her seat of power within Serpentshrine Cavern. Far more at home here among the waters of the reservoir than locked within the cold stone walls of Black Temple, Vashj maintains a close eye on her minions and personally oversees the draining of Zangarmarsh.

With Outland serving as the strategic battlefront in the ongoing Burning Crusade, the naaru recently used Tempest Keep to reach the shattered land. However, when the naaru set out from their stronghold, Prince Kael’thas and his blood elves quickly raided the dimensional fortress and assumed control over its satellite structures.

Now, guided by some unknown purpose, Kael’thas manipulates the keep’s otherworldly technologies, using them to harness the chaotic energies of the Netherstorm itself.

There are five pieces in the Rift Stalker set. Rift Stalker has the distinction of having one of the best two piece set bonuses in the game for Hunters (causes your pet to be healed for 15% of the damage you deal). The five pieces are obtained in raid areas for the Burning Crusade expansion – Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye. Tokens are obtained from defeating NPCs in these zones and then exchanged with vendors in either Aldor Rise [Kelara] or Scryer’s Tier [Veynna Dawnstar] (depending on which faction the Hunter has allied with) for the corresponding set piece.

  1. Rift Stalker Gauntlets: Serpentshrine Cavern (Leotheras the Blind)
  2. Rift Stalker Mantle: The Eye (Void Reaver)
  3. Rift Stalker Leggings: Serpentshrine Cavern (Fathom-Lord Karathress)
  4. Rift Stalker Helm: Serpentshrine Cavern (Lady Vashj)
  5. Rift Stalker Hauberk: The Eye (Kael’thas Sunstrider)

Gronnstalker – Tier 6

Since the world was young, the bronze dragonflight has safeguarded the winding labyrinth, monitoring the shifting timeways to ensure that the delicate balance of time is upheld.

But now the ancient Dragon Aspect Nozdormu has been roused by an elusive threat to his beloved caverns: dark, sinister agents have infiltrated the timeways, embarking on shadowy missions to alter the course of the past, present and future. As a result, the bronze dragonflight has begun enlisting heroes to prevent the fabric of history from unraveling forever. For the first time, adventurers will enter the domain of the Timeless One, where they will undertake missions to prevent the sabotage of key historical events:

The momentous Battle of Mount Hyjal, where Jaina, Thrall, Tyrande, and Malfurion succeeded in turning the tide against the dreaded demon, Archimonde…

Bloodied by the death knight Arthas but not fully beaten, Illidan returned to Outland and established his throne within the Black Temple. And yet, despite Illidan’s efforts to seal Ner’zhul’s portals, Kil’jaeden’s wrath will not be denied. Even now the merciless Doomwalker batters at the temple gates.

Determined to maintain his grip on Outland, Illidan awaits any and all who would challenge his rule.

Meanwhile, determined to find a cure for his people’s crippling addiction, Prince Kael’thas sought a renewed source of arcane power, and he soon fell into the service of the demon Illidan Stormrage.

With Illidan’s aid, the blood elves found a temporary reprieve, learning to siphon the magical energies of others to ease their own suffering. As Kael’thas joined the fight against Illidan’s many enemies, the prince came to rely more and more on fel energy: the dark and corrupting essence wielded by the demonic Burning Legion itself.

Now, bristling with newfound power, Kael’thas has turned his back on his former master, Illidan, and has finally returned to Quel’Thalas, promising final deliverance to his people. To this end he has harnessed the mortal possessor of the Sunwell’s energies, Anveena. Yet many believe that the prince’s exposure to fel energies has made him unstable, and that he has sought out a new master, a demon lord of the Burning Legion so terrible that even the mighty Illidan would tremble in fear at the sound of his name:

Kil’jaeden.

There are eight pieces in the Gronnstalker set. However, unlike the old Cryptstalker set which had bonuses at 2, 4, 6 and 8 pieces, Gronnstalker only offers a 2 and 4 piece set bonus. The eight pieces are obtained in end-game raid areas for the Burning Crusade expansion – Hyjal Summit, Black Temple and Sunwell Plateau. Tokens are obtained from defeating NPCs in these zones and then exchanged with vendors in either the Caverns of Time [Tydormu] or the Isle of Quel’Danas [Theremis] for the corresponding set piece.

  1. Gronnstalker’s Gloves: Hyjal Summit (Azgalor)
  2. Gronnstalker’s Spaulders: Black Temple (Mother Shahraz)
  3. Gronnstalker’s Leggings: Black Temple (The Illidari Council)
  4. Gronnstalker’s Helmet: Hyjal Summit (Archimonde)

  7. Gronnstalker’s Belt: Sunwell Plateau (Brutallus)
  8. Gronnstalker’s Boots: Sunwell Plateau (Felmyst)

Cryptstalker – Tier 7 & 7.5

The dread citadel Naxxramas has returned to Northrend and now hovers over western Dragonblight. Kel’Thuzad and his minions continue to terroize hapless adventurers who dare to set foot inside the necropolis.

The remaining dragonflights have united against Malygos under the banner of the Wyrmrest Accord in Dragonblight. The Black Dragonflight, despite having sent an ambassador to the cause, continue to serve their own ends first and foremost. Sartharion and his lieutenants, Vesperon, Shadron and Tenebron maintain dominion in the Obsidian Sanctum below the temple, perhaps guarding the next generation of black dragons in anticipation of Deathwing’s escape from Grim Batol.

There are five pieces in the Cryptstalker set and two different versions. Heroes’ Cryptstalker Battlegear can be obtained in the 10 man dungeons (normal) and Valorous Cryptstalker Battlegear in the 25 man version (heroic). Both sets contain 5 pieces but have the same set bonus. This means the sets can be worn in any combination, not unlike the PvP sets, to obtain the set bonuses.

The set tokens are turned into Bragund Brightlink in Langrom’s Leather & Links in Daleran.

  1. Heroes’ Cryptstalker Handguards: Obsidian Sanctum (Sartharion)
  2. Heroes’ Cryptstalker Spaulders: Naxxramas (Gluth & Loatheb)
  3. Heroes’ Cryptstalker Legguards: Naxxramas (Gluth & Thaddius)
  4. Heroes’ Cryptstalker Headpiece: Naxxramas (Kel’Thuzad)
  5. Heroes’ Cryptstalker Tunic: Naxxramas (Four Horsemen Event)

  2. Valorous Cryptstalker Spaulders: Naxxramas (Gluth & Loatheb)
  3. Valorous Cryptstalker Legguards: Naxxramas (Gluth & Thaddius)
  4. Valorous Cryptstalker Headpiece: Naxxramas (Kel’Thuzad)
  5. Valorous Cryptstalker Tunic: Naxxramas (Four Horsemen Event)

There are three alternative ways to obtain pieces of the Cryptstalker sets. The tokens for the gloves and chestguard (Heroes’ Cryptstalker Handguards and Heroes’ Cryptstalker Tunic) can be purchased with 60 and 80 Emblems of Heroism. The tokens for the shoulders and leggings (Valorous Cryptstalker Spaulders and Valorous Cryptstalker Legguards) can be purchased with 60 and 75 Emblems of Valor. If the player’s respective reputation holds the Lake Wintergrasp zone, this will provide access to Archavon the Stone Watcher who can drop either the Heroes Cryptstalker tunic, gloves or leggings in the 10 man version (normal) or Valorous Cryptstalker tunic, gloves or leggings in the 25 man version (heroic). It is a random chance of the dungeon pieces dropping in combination with the Hateful/Deadly Gladiator’s pieces. Archavon does not drop tokens but instead the completed armor pieces.

Scourgestalker – Tier 8 & 8.5

For millennia, Ulduar has remained undisturbed by mortals, far away from their concerns and their struggles. Yet since its recent discovery, many have wondered what the structure’s original purpose may have been. Some thought it a city built to herald the glory of its makers; some thought it a vault containing innumerable treasures, perhaps even relics of the mighty titans themselves. Such speculations were wrong.

Beyond Ulduar’s gates lies no city, no treasure vault, no final answer to the titan’s mysteries. All that awaits those who dare set foot in Ulduar is a horror even the titans could not, would not destroy — an evil they merely… contained.

There are five pieces in the Scourgestalker set and two different versions. Valorous Scourgestalker Battlegear can be obtained in the 10 man dungeons (normal) and Conqueror Scourgestalker Battlegear in the 25 man version (heroic). Both sets contain 5 pieces but have the same set bonus. This means the sets can be worn in any combination, not unlike the PvP sets, to obtain the set bonuses.

The set tokens are turned into Bragund Brightlink in Langrom’s Leather & Links in Daleran.

  1. Valorous Scourgestalker Handguards: Ulduar (Freya)
  2. Valorous Scourgestalker Spaulders: Ulduar (Thorim)
  3. Valorous Scourgestalker Legguards: Ulduar (Hodir)
  4. Valorous Scourgestalker Headpiece: Ulduar (Mimiron)
  5. Valorous Scourgestalker Tunic: Ulduar (Yogg-Saron)
  1. Conqueror’s Scourgestalker Handguards: Ulduar (Mimiron)
  2. Conqueror’s Scourgestalker Spaulders: Ulduar (Yogg-Saron)
  3. Conqueror’s Scourgestalker Legguards: Ulduar (Freya)
  4. Conqueror’s Scourgestalker Headpiece: Ulduar (Thorim)
  5. Conqueror’s Scourgestalker Tunic: Ulduar (Hodir)

There are alternative ways to obtain pieces of the Scourgestalker sets. The tokens for the tunic and helm (Conqueror’s Scourgestalker Tunic and Conqueror’s Scourgestalker Headpiece) can be purchased with 58 Emblems of Conquest. If the player’s respective reputation holds the Lake Wintergrasp zone, this will provide access to Emalon the Storm Watcher who can drop either the Valorous Scourgestalker gloves or leggings in the 10 man version (normal) or Conqueror’s Scourgestalker gloves or leggings in the 25 man version (heroic). It is a random chance of the dungeon pieces dropping in combination with the Deadly/Furious Gladiator’s pieces. Emalon does not drop tokens but instead the completed armor pieces.

Windrunner – Tier 9 & 9.5

The time to strike at the heart of the Scourge is drawing close. Clouds blanket the skies of Azeroth and heroes gather beneath battle-worn banners in preparation for the coming storm. They say that even the darkest cloud has a silver lining. It is this hope that drives the men and women of the Argent Crusade: hope that the Light will see them through these trying times, hope that good will triumph over evil, hope that a hero blessed by the Light will come forth to put an end to the Lich King’s dark reign.

So the Argent Crusade has sent out the call, a call to arms for all heroes far and wide, to meet at the very doorstep of the Lich King’s domain and to prove their might in a tournament the likes of which Azeroth has never seen. Of course, a tournament such as this needs a fitting stage. A place where potential candidates are tested to the limits of exhaustion. A place where heroes… become champions. A place called the Crusaders’ Coliseum.

There are five pieces in the Windrunner set and three different versions. The Conqueror Windrunner Battlegear can be purchased with Emblems of Triumph. The Triumphant Windrunner Battlegear (normal) is purchased with Emblems of Triumph and a Trophy of the Crusade. Trophies of the Crusade are obtained in the 10 man dungeon (but only upon successfully defeating Anub’arak in Heroic mode with enough tries remaining to warrent their appearance in a Tribute chest) and from all bosses in the 25 man raid dungeon (non-heroic). The Heroic version of the Triumphant Windrunner Battlegear (although it has the same name as the non-heroic version) is obtained upon successfully defeating Anub’arak in Heroic mode with enough tries remaining to warrent their appearance in a Tribute chest in the form of Regalia of the Grand Protector. All three sets contain 5 pieces but have the same set bonus. This means the sets can be worn in any combination, not unlike the PvP sets, to obtain the set bonuses.

The sets can be purchased from Aspirant Forudir, Valiant Laradia and Champion Isimode for the Alliance. For the Horde, the vendors are Aspirant Naradiel, Valiant Bressia and Champion Faesrol. All of these merchants are located at the Argent Tournament in Icecrown.

  1. Windrunner’s Handguards of Conquest
  2. Windrunner’s Spaulders of Conquest
  3. Windrunner’s Legguards of Conquest
  4. Windrunner’s Headpiece of Conquest

  2. Windrunner’s Spaulders of Triumph
  3. Windrunner’s Legguards of Triumph
  4. Windrunner’s Headpiece of Triumph
  5. Windrunner’s Tunic of Triumph

There is an alternative way to obtain pieces of the Windrunner sets. If the player’s respective reputation holds the Lake Wintergrasp zone, this will provide access to Koralon the Flame Watcher who can drop either the Windrunner gloves or leggings of Conquest in the 10 man version or Windrunner gloves or leggings of Triumph in the 25 man version. It is a random chance of the dungeon pieces dropping in combination with the Furious/Relentless Gladiator’s pieces. Koralon does not drop tokens but instead the completed armor pieces.

Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter – Tier 10 & 10.5

All across Northrend, many battles have been fought against the vile Scourge. Countless lives have been lost since the Alliance and the Horde first reached these frozen wastes, but the champions of Azeroth continue to march forward and Icecrown Citadel, the cornerstone of the Scourge’s power and the home base of the Lich King, is their final target. Tirion Fordring and the Argent Crusade have forged an accord with Darion Mograine and the Knights of the Ebon Blade to form the Ashen Verdict. This coalition’s strongest combatants, along with the champions of the Alliance and the Horde, will lead the charge against the citadel. In the new Icecrown Citadel raid dungeon, Azeroth’s mightiest will face terrifying challenges before ascending to the Frozen Throne, where the Lich King and his runeblade, Frostmourne, await to deliver the heroes to their deaths…

There are five pieces in the Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter set and three different versions, Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter Battlegear and Sanctified Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter Battlegear (both normal and heroic). The Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter Battlegear is purchased with Emblems of Frost. The Sanctified Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter Battlegear (normal) is purchased with the pieces of the Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter Battlegear plus additional tokens from within the instances. The heroic version of the Sanctified Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter Battlegear is purchased with the pieces of the Sanctified Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter Battlegear plus additional heroic tokens from within the instances. All three sets contain 5 pieces but have the same set bonus. This means the sets can be worn in any combination, not unlike the PvP sets, to obtain the set bonuses.

The sets can be purchased from Talan Moonstrike, who is within Icecrown Citadel, in Icecrown.

  4. Sanctified Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter’s Headpiece
  5. Sanctified Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter’s Tunic

PvP sets

The Player versus Player sets do not have a Tier designation but rather are referred to by Arena season. These items can either be purchased with honor, Arena points or obtained by turning in Tier tokens for the PvP equivalent. The Tier tokens can only be turned in for Arena gear that is a season behind the current – so, Tier 5 (Rift Stalker tokens) can be turned in for Season 2 gear, Tier 6 (Gronnstalker tokens) for Season 3 gear and so on.

All lower tier PvP sets (Season 1 through Season 4: Gladiator, Merciless Gladiator, Vengeful Gladiator and Brutal Gladiator) share the same set bonus, +35 Resilience Rating for two pieces and a reduction of the cooldown of Multi-Shot by 1 second for four pieces, with five pieces total in the sets. The new sets introduced in Wrath of the Lich King (Hateful Gladiator and beyond) provide +100 Resilience Rating and +50 Attack Power for two pieces and a reduction of the cooldown of all traps by 2 seconds and +150 Attack Power for four pieces, with five pieces total in the sets.
